Steel wall sleeves are usually installed in the ceiling, wall or floor plate when encased. They are used to accommodate density inserts for pipe or cable feedthroughs.

If the requirements in terms of corrosion resistance are less large, wall sleeves are also used in galvanized or simple, black versions for cost reasons.

In order to achieve additional protection against possible fluid penetration (possibly possible, later construction setting) due to capillary effect, the wall sleeves are often provided with a seamlessly welded flange ring.
